Ingredients

  • A bowl of your favorite porridge
  • 2 large apples
  • 1 large pinch of raisins
  • 1/4 teaspoon powdered cinnamon
  • 3 de-stoned prunes
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey

Directions

1Place a pan with 1cm of water in the bottom and leave to boil. Peal the apples and chop into 1cm cubes (doesn’t need to be exact), then add them to the pan.

2Cook the apples until they are soft, adding more water if needed. Add the raisins and cinnamon.

3When the raisins have started to soften and swell, slice the prunes and add to the pan along with the honey. when the fruit is soft remove from the heat and with the back of a fork press down until the apple becomes a puree.

4Place in a bowl and when it has cooled a little allow the children to decorate their porridge with the mixture. Drawing faces, or shapes, or numbers – wherever their imagination leads them.
